Subject: Destroy Jesus? Why? |
Bible Note: Also: The religious leaders were the best known, most powerful, and most respected of all leaders. If you look through out the gospels you will note that Jesus repeatedly rebuked these leaders and made fools of them in front of many. They were unable to ask Him a question that He did not have an answer for that was undebateable. Jesus, also, spoke of them in parables. In the parable of the 2 sons the Jewish leaders are the son who professed to serve but refused to obey. In the parable of the wicked tenants Jesus held them responsible for the nation's fruitlessness before God. In the parable of the King's wedding feast they are condemned because they refuse to honor the King's Son with a responce to His invitation. In Matthew 23:1-8 Jesus warn His followers to do whatever they teach you and follow it but do not do as they do. After exposing their worthless works and base motives He addressed them personally with the 8 woes. Jesus was unmistakenly in their way and they had to be rid of Him. |
