Bible Question: Does the Bible predict the growth of Christianity, great Christian movements, revival, etc? If so, can anyone give some verses for reference? |
Bible Answer: Hi Aspilos, Actually, the Bible tells us much the opposite will happen. Luke 18:8 "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" Jesus questioned whether faith would even be found on the earth when He returned. Paul wrote to Timothy that the times would grow worse, with those (2 Tim 3:5) "holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power;" He later wrote, (2 Tim 3:13) "But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived." Jesus said of the end times, (Matt 24:4-5) "And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many." Peter as well, (2 Pet 2:1-2) "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;) Peter also wrote of the last days, (2 Pet 3:3-4) "Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation." Jesus compared the end times to the times of Noah, in which only eight people escaped judgment, and to the destruction of Sodom, in which even fewer escaped. So the Bible foretells deceipt and false prophets, that men will be lovers of themselves and not lovers of God (2 Tim 3), mocking the believers, persecuting, and so on. Evolution will be taught instead of creation. "Will He find faith on the earth?" I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
