Bible Question: What is paradise? Is it different than heaven? Where do people go when they die until Christ comes back |
Bible Answer: tracyann If you will do a quick search over to the right using the keyword paradise you will find many discussions on this subject. In a nut shell. Paradise was also know as Abraham's bosom in Jewish culture. Jesus used this understanding in Luke 16:19-30 to tell the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Before Jesus' death and resurrection both the righteous and unrighteous went to Hades. The righteous to Abraham's bosom and the unrighteous to the hot dry side. Upon Jesus' death He went to Abraham's bosom or paradise and preached the good news and lead the righteous souls to heaven. Today when a true Christian dies they go directly to heaven. However those the reject Jesus as Lord and Savior still go to the hot dry place to await Judgement. If you will do a search you will find all the scripture listed to back this up. EdB |
