Bible Question: I am looking for the bible passage regarding pleading the blood of Jesus Christ in your home or office for protection -can you help me? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Bnolan1... There is no such Bible passage. The blood of Christ was shed as an atonement for the redeemed. The idea of it being efficacious for objects, places, and things is probably rooted in the superstitious thinking of the church in the Middle Ages. (cf. Mark 7) Why not just offer all that you have to God for His providential purposes? Then care for them as a good steward. God will retain them or remove them as He sees fit for your eternal good. After all, our treasures are not in this world, but the next. As the Puritan George Downame put it, "Let us use worldly things as wise pilgrims do their staves and other necessaries convenient for their journey. So long as they help us forward in our way, let us make use of them, and accordingly esteem them. But if they become troublesome hindrances and cumbersome burdens, let us leave them behind us, or cast them away." In Him, Doc |
