Bible Question: I am in a business where I charge a fee for my services. The fee I charge is less than some others in my field and sometimes more than others. I once rad a scripture that made me feel good about doing business this way. It said something like "A shepard may eat from the flock he looks after".....or something like that. I recently had a customer argue with me about my fee (she was a Christian like myself). I could not provide this piece of scripture because I could not find it anywhere I looked. Can anyone point me inthe right direction? |
Bible Answer: Dear Papers, Welcome to the forum! Contrary to popular belief, the principles of capitalism are rooted in the Scriptures. Christ states that "the laborer is worthy of his hire." You have sought to set a fair price on your services, which is in harmony with the command of the Word (Proverbs 11:1). If those services are rendered in an honorable field of endeavor, and you are careful to bill only for what you have actually done, then you are working in harmony with God's will in business.
