Bible Question:
As I was scanning through recent posts, I came across this: 'If you are a good Baptist...'. I then thought of a comment my boss said one day. 'I wasn't being a good Catholic'. I chuckled at the 'good Baptist' statement because the church I attend wears the label 'Missionary Baptist'. The statement also prompted two questions. 1. What does it mean to be a 'good Baptist' or a 'good Catholic' for that matter? 2. Do we have any scriptural basis for having demoninations? Thanks in advance to those who respond. |
Bible Answer: I would suspect that the reference to not being a "good Baptist" or "good Catholic" probably has something to do with whether or not you are practicing what is preached by the particular group. One might also ask what is a "Good Samaritan." Jesus had a illustrative answer which also reflected on some of the Jews of His day. Emmaus |
