Bible Note: Implicit meanings.............................. You said: "Again you have a greek word "heos" (until) that does not necessarily mean that after a certain point in time, a different action occurred. See Matt 1:25, 1 Cor 15:25." I disagree. The word "until" specifies a condition that was or will be met. When that condition is satisfied, there is an implicit change in action, status, relation, etc. If I say, "I did not have sexual relations with my wife until we married," must I explicitly state that we did after we married? No, because this is a normal action among married couples. It is inferred or implicit in the statement. No less is true of Joseph and Mary. It would be unbelievable to think that nothing happened between them throughout their marriage. Steve |
