AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 7:28 But she replied, "Yes, Lord, but even the pet dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs." |
Bible Question:
28And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs." I understand verse 27, but not quite sure what the verse means. Thanks for the help |
Bible Answer: Jesus was testing this woman's faith and attitude he had just referred to a her as Jew viewed pagans as "dogs". He said it wasn't right to give to pagans what was intended for God's children. Her response showed her humility and her faith in Him. Rather than argue her virtue or her good works, she pointed out that even the dogs sometimes get scraps that fall from the children's plate. Jesus seeing her humility and her faith in Him was moved and did as she asked. EdB |
