Bible Question: in mark 7:27-30 it is talking about letting children eat all they want before you throw their bread crumbs to the dogs. and how the dogs under the table will eat the children's crumbs. can someone explain to me what they think the children, the dog, and the bread mean. thank you. |
Bible Answer: Hello, The webpage indicates that all questions have been answered, so I hope I am not duplicating any one else's answer to your question. On the belief that I am not, I offer my explanation of Mark 7:27 Children: people of Israel, the Jews Bread: The bread of Life, the Word, Jesus dogs: those not Jewish, the Gentiles If you read the preceding verse, you will find that the Bible states that the woman was a Greek and begged Jesus to clean her daughter of an unclean spirit, a Demon. Jesus responded to her in vs 27, yet in vs 28, she persists and acknowledges that even the dogs will eat the children's crumbs. I believe that statement confirmed her faith in Jesus as the Messiah, whereas some of His own still rejected Him. For her faith, Jesus blessed her and healed her daughter. I hope that this answer provides clarification and that others weigh in with thier interpretation, as well. Be Blessed, ATAPTCJ |
