Bible Question:
I just completed nineyty days of rehab in a twelve step program. I was introduced and encouraged to attend narcotics anonomous. I am torn by this: the people there are not "Godly" for the most part, so I feel I don't fit in. Should I discontinue this practice and replace it with more church functions. I feel I need to continue going to meetings from time to time but not every night of the week. |
Bible Answer: Hi, worleybird72! Jesus prayed for His disciples (and for all Believers) to the Father... He prayed that we be kept safe... He did not pray that we be removed from the world or placed in some isolated region/s... (John 17:9, 15, 20) Counter any ungodly speach, ideas, actions with fellowship in Jesus and with Jesus... study the Holy Scripture constantly, maintain a prayerful life (even while at the meetins you can simply call Jesus name repeatedly, in your mind of course as you would not want to interrupt the activities in the meeting), employ any free time serving Jesus in your local Church, and you can even speak to your pastor and ask him for permission and assistance to start a rehab group which is Bible-centered!... lastly, ask God for the wisdom and strength (James 1:5) to be able to absorb all the positive techniques and skills while rejecting all the ungodly interaction that may surface around you. Remember: "Greater is He (God) that is in you, than he (Satan) that is in the world! (1 John 4:4) God Bless! Angel |
