Bible Question: We are studying the deciples and I have been given Thaddaeus. I don't have a clue where to start. Can you give me any information on him or direct me where I might look? |
Bible Answer: Hello Trwmedic! I use a great computer program called PC Study Bible Reference Library. It has a vast amount of resource material. But even with all the resources, the following information is all there was. The name Thaddaeus means "breast". One of the twelve apostles of Jesus (Matt 10:3; Mark 3:18; Thaddeus, KJV), also called Lebbaeus (Matt 10:3) and Judas the son of James (Luke 6:16; Acts 1:13). He is carefully distinguished from Judas Iscariot (John 14:22). Nothing else is known about this most obscure of the apostles, but some scholars attribute the Epistle of Jude to him. (from Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Copyright (c)1986, Thomas Nelson Publishers) I was going to suggest you look on www.blueletterbible.org. But when I did a search there for Thaddaeus it only brought up two Scriptures. Perhaps someone else has additional ideas. Sorry I couldn't be more help. |
