Bible Note: scatter, I agree a drug is a drug and I'm ratable being a recovering alcohalic of seventeen years. In the context of Mark 15:23 Jesus is not telling us to not drink wine. Granted I don't believe Jesus ever consumed anything containing alcohol and He wouldn't have taken the wine offered to Him because of the affect it would have had. He could not allow anything that would negatively impact what he had to do. The bible does not necessarily tell people not to drink but it does tell us not be drunk. Paul even tells Timothy to take a little wine for his stomach. As Christians it may be best not to drink at all. For a multiplicity of reasons. It behooves us as believers to develope deep biblical convictions. Read Romans chapter fourteen. It deals with debatable issues and this has been a highly depatable issue in allot of circles. Keep comming back. In Him, lionheart |
