AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 14:3 ¶ While He was in Bethany [as a guest] at the home of Simon the leper, and reclining at the table, a woman came with an alabaster vial of very costly and precious perfume of pure nard; and she broke the vial and poured the perfume over His head. |
Bible Question: In Mark 13 we find Jesus at the home of Simon the Leper sharing a meal. In this home the Master was annointed with oil by a woman, who is not mentioned by name. Then in John 12 we read of another annointing, this time by Mary with Lazarus being present. Are these two events one in the same and were Jesus, Lazarus, Mary and Martha all guests in the home of Simon when this event occurred. It seems logical since both Simon and Lazarus were residents of Bethany where both Mark and John say was the town in which the event happened? |
Bible Answer: Hello Seek and Knock, The anointing in Mark 14 and John 12 is the same event written by two authors. Steve |
