AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 14:3 ¶ While He was in Bethany [as a guest] at the home of Simon the leper, and reclining at the table, a woman came with an alabaster vial of very costly and precious perfume of pure nard; and she broke the vial and poured the perfume over His head. |
Bible Question: Were there two different women in the bible who poured oil on Jesus? I know of 1 in Luke 7:36-50. I thought it was Mary, sister of Lazarus. |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Mat 26:1-13, Mar 14:1-9, Luk 7:36-50 ... SARose, greetings. Based on the Matthew and Mark accounts -the timing (2 days before Passover and Unleavened Bread) -the house (Simon the leper) and -the coversation ... I see they are diferent than the Luke account. Note the Pharisee's name was Simon; I doubt he'd be a leper. Also, neither woman is named. Searcher |
