AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 13:14 ¶ "But when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION standing [in the temple sanctuary] where it ought not to be (let the reader understand) then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. [Dan 9:27; 11:31; 12:11] |
Bible Question: In Mark 13:14 where it says when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be.........could you use that verse to refute that Christians can not be demon possessed? I know what the verse is referring to but it also seems that it could be talking about a biblical principle as well. I do not know the bible very well at all so that is why I am asking. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Prayertulip, I do not see an application of Mark 13:14 or of Matthew 24:15 that could serve to refute the stance that Christians can not be demon possessed. You will find much on that subject, though, by using the Search function at the right. As for Mark 13:14, I hope that the following commentary serves to clarify this verse. "24:15 ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION. This is the man of sin (2 Thess. 2:4), the Antichrist, who at this midpoint in the Tribulation breaks the covenant he made with the Jewish people at the beginning of the Tribulation (Dan. 9:27) and demands that they and the world worship him. Those who resist will be persecuted, and many will be martyred; that is the reason for the urgency of the instructions in verses 16-22."
