Bible Question: can someone please fully explain the parable in Mark 12 to me? |
Bible Answer: Hi, sub! In the Old Testament we learn that God has separated a portion (remnant) of Israel onto Himself and that Israel whom He once called "my people" will be called "not my people" and that those who were once called "not my people" will be called "my people..." Jesus is speaking on that particular occurance! Israel is foretold through the prophets that the Son of God will come to them, and, true to Scripture, they rejected Jesus, aprehended Him, and put Him to death! The Apostles began their preaching in Israel (the people of Israel), ended up being persecuted and ran out of their Jewish communities; hence, they began to preach to the gentiles from whom they made "the new people of God." Compare with John 1:1-14 and Romans 9:1 through 11:32. God Bless! Angel |
