Bible Question: My sister is a believer, however has not given her "life" over to God and is not fully convinced of the authority of Gods Word. She is under a heavy spirit of indecisiveness, unproductivity, and struggles terrible in her job as a teacher. She is unable to complete things by her deadlines and is overwhelmed with the amount of work she has. I think she is just unable to focus on the whole and gets "lost" in the "parts". I know this isnt a "bible" question, but I want to know how to pray for her. She stays up all night trying to finish her work. My heart is so burdened for her. Please help. She is also late all the time (hours) and frequently never even shows up. |
Bible Answer: Hi Estella, Your sister sounds as if she may be suffering from depression. Not that I am a professional in the field of Psychiatry, but I openly admit that I have suffered this condition. I can identify with all that you have written. As far as how to pray for her... I suggest that you pray the sincere petition that you have posted here, doing as the Lord directed in th 11th Chapter of Mark. v.24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. v.25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Jesus said we should give thanks, praying as if we have already received our request (pray with faith, knowing that He has heard our petition and with the confidence that He has given what we have asked.) I hope that this will be of some help. I pray God's peace be upon you and your dear sister. -khuck |
