Bible Question:
BB ... where in the Bible does it say - divorce is permitted if one is beaten? - remarriage is permitted if the spouse ask ask for the divorce? - that one's spirit can overrule Scripture? |
Bible Answer: Hi Searcher56, I believe that you are putting undue criticism on what Burning Bush has said. I do not know him, but unless he is of a New Age persuasion and is saying that one should listen to their "spirit guide" I find nothing wrong in what he has said. We have to test the spirits and we don't want to listen to demons and spirit guides. 1 Peter 5:8 says, "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." But when BB asked "what does your spirit say?" I find no fault in the question. The question put forth is a contrast to what the flesh and the natural body says. We should listen to what our spirit says rather than our bodies. James 2:26 says, "For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead." We have to go with what we believe. Romans 14:22, "The faith that you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves." This speaks to the "spirits of righteous men made perfect". Hebrews 12:23. Hebrews 12:9, [Literal] "Furthermore, we had fathers of our flesh, and we respected them, shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of our spirits, and live?" 1) What I am saying is one's spirit should be one with the word of God. John 3:34, "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the *[spirit] without meaasure. From the heart, Ray |
