Bible Question: Why did God bless a Roman soldier over a Jew? Matthew 7:28-29 , Matthew 8:5-6? |
Bible Answer: Neither of the passages you refer to are of Jesus choosing to bless a Roman over a Jew. They are refering to Jesus healing someone of palsy, more importantly the centurion came asking for him to heal his servant but said he was not worthy to have Jesus under his roof so he asked im to merely speak it since he had full faith that Jesus could do it. Jesus did it by word of mouth alone because he was happy with the man great faith in him. Matthew 8:5-13, Luke 7:2-10. The verses of 7:28-29 Jesus is closing his illustraton of the two foundations. One on rock and one on sand. |
