Bible Question: I remember being instructed that those in hell for eternity will be in complete darkness and will not be able to see anything. Can anyone give me book/verse to support this thought? |
Bible Answer: Jesus in telling His parables often used the term outer darkness in what many people think to be a description for hell. However there is no description persay that says hell is like this, totally dark, ... and .... We also have to be mindful hell is a term most often used for the holding place of the unrighteous dead where they await their final judgement. The Lake of Fire is the final punishment of the those that die not trusting in Jesus Christ for their salvation. Matthew 8:12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 22:13 Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' Matthew 25:30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' EdB |
