Bible Note: Hi Vince, This is a good point you make. There certainly are many who think that they will be immune from God's judgment, and it's important for each of us to remember that we rely on God's grace and mercy alone, so that we will be merciful to each other. Jesus said, (Matt 5:7) "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." We need to understand and follow the Scripture that tells us: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (18) All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; (19) that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. (20) Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. (21) For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. When Jesus was in the world, He could have judged us, each one is guilty. But instead He chose to not count our sins against us, to give us the chance to be reconciled to God, to become His children. We must do no less with each other. We must not let those things others do wrong prevent us from reaching out to them with the love of Jesus. And to the one who says "your doing what is wrong", they prove to all that they know there is a right and wrong, and therefore they will be judged by that knowledge, and there is no one of us who has not done wrong. The only way to survive the judgment is if we let Jesus bear the guilt of our sin, so that we can receive His righteousness. So no one has the right to judge his brother. Love in Christ, Mark |
