Bible Question:
Dear Forum Saints, Is this Scripture intended for the reader (or hearer), in order that they would be more careful in their own walk, or as a means to 'narrow the field' concerning others? In Christ Jesus, charis |
Bible Answer: I believe that this verse speaks to the unsaved. The saved have already found life in Christ and know that the Christian life is to be lived within the precepts, guidelines and values as laid out in the Scriptures. People by nature do not seek salvation through the rememptive work of Christ on the cross. They are willing to try everything and everyone else - the broad way. Life (salvation) is not found in the abundance of the things in this world. It is only found in Christ. The unsaved cannot have their cake and eat it too. They are either for Christ or against Him. |
