Subject: Matt. 7:6 ???? |
Bible Note: Dear jesusfreakmsw, I believe the admonition is to those who do not discern their own faults, but are quick to see (they think they see but really they do not) the faults in others. For instance, a person who is blind to his own spiritual pride is not qualfied to pass judgement on someone he thinks is puffed up with the same sort of pride. If he can't see it in himself how can he possibly see it in another person? Only after he recognizes his own sin, and deals with it through scriptural means, will he be able to share with another how to handle the same problem. Matt 7:6 "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." is a different subject that our Lord is addressing and not connected to His teaching in Verse 6. (Notice that verse 8 also is a different topic from v.7. Does my explanation make sense to you? John |
