Subject: How important is God's Name? |
Bible Note: Greetings Ray! I'm not sure that the Name is hidden in this verse. Usually, the phrase 'the name' is followed by some sort of pronoun or title. However, there are a couple of places where 'the Name' simply seems to be almost a shorthand for Jesus. Phil. 2:9 says, "Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth," Heb. 1:4 says, "So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs."
