Bible Question: In Matthew 6:33, Jesus Christ told us to seek first God's Kingdom and God's Righteousness. What, exactly, must we find first and believe according to Matthew 6:33? Do you know? |
Bible Answer: The first rule of bible interpretation is the rule of context. To establish the context of Matt. 6:33, look back to at least verse 25: "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?" What is the command here? In other words, Jesus said "don't do this (vs. 25)...rather, do this (vs. 33)." |
