Bible Question: where is it in the Bible that tells of thoes who wanted everyone to know that they were fasting by speaking about it and altering the way they looked |
Bible Answer: In Matt 6:16-18, it tells us that as the hypocrites fasted, they had a sad countenance, for they disfigure their faces, and appeared unto men to fast, for they have their reward. Verse 17: "But hou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face. Verse 18: "That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. |
