Bible Note: Hi, Olga... The dilemma itself is addressed in the Scriptures, in principle and in example. However, your question was, "...do I have to..." Thus you were not asking about the principle, but rather whether or not you were required to submit to it. We do not and cannot know your particular situation, your standing in the faith, your standing in the church, your relationship with your family, and all of these same questions relative to those with whom you are dealing. You see, many people come to the forum seeking an answer that is in keeping with what they want to do, rather than what they ought to do. The Internet is a wonderful venue by which information may be shared, but it is no replacement for the functions of the local church. It would be sinful for us to attempt to replace the efforts of your congregation. Instead, when it comes to specific applications, we urge you to use the mechanisms ordained by our Lord Jesus Christ. That will insure that the root of the problem is addressed, rather than the symptoms of it. In Him, Doc |
