Bible Question: do you have to tell your mate that you have been unfaithful when you have ask God for forgivness |
Bible Answer: Hi, pgantt! There are many teachings about everything we experience... Jesus is quite specific: if there is an unsolved grievance that would keep us from coming near to God, we must resolve it (Matthew 5:23-24) We cannot harm our brothers and sisters in the faith and seek God's forgiveness while circumventing the brother or sister that we have harm (or will continue to harm). Jesus' taught us one prayer (as an example of how we are to pray) and that prayer contains a built-in clause that causes us to have a direct relationship with humanity: "forgive us as we forgive others"--paraphrased. James brings it from the worship point of view: if we praise the Lord our God, how can we also curse (harm) those created in God's image?: James 3:10 through 4:10. Keeping in mind that we hurt others and ourselves in more than one way. It is possible to kill physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Every word and every deed (act or omission) bring repercussions: there is but one body of Christ! Do not just tell God you are sorry about something; be sorry! Repent, turn around, back to God, and live your life in Jesus! (Matthew 5:27-30) God Bless! Angel |
