Bible Question (short): The people between Adam's time and Moses |
Question (full): This is the original question and answer. I would also like to know more about this. The people between Adam's time and Moses time did not have the Law for them to live by. Will they be judged on judgement day and some go to heaven ? What happens to them? Did they answer to God personally? Thanks for the in put. This is question from our small group. my question comes from Romans chapter 5: 12-14. Does this passage indicate that God did not hold people accountable for their sin in the time between Adam and Moses? I realize that the law had not been given but could not the arguement be made for natural law and the possibleity that the sacfrical system was introduced in the Garden of Eden when God Himself made the first animal sacfrice to cover the sin of Adam and Eve, and did not Job make sacfrices to God to cover the sin of himself and his family, as well as God telling Noah to take animals on the arch with him so that he could oofer sacfrice? So did God hold people accountable for their sin during this time? What exactly is Paul saying in this passage? Thanks in advance for your help. In The Love Of Christ, tgc Answer: God did hold people accountable for their sins. What Paul was referring to in verse 13 was that before Moses received the laws from God there was no strict accounting of their specific points of their violations. But even without the law death was universal because their can be no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood. |
