Bible Question: If you have been baptized according to what Jesus has spoken to his disciples in this particular scripture. Then is it necessary according to the Apostols doctrine to be rebaptized specifically in the name of Jesus? and will you go to hell if you haven't been baptized in the name of Jesus? also since they are one If you have been baptized according to matt 28:19 you have been baptized in Jesus name? is your salvation incomplete if you haven't been baptized specifically in Jesus name? I was baptized in the name of the Father and the name of the Son and of the Holy Ghost and really would like to know? |
Bible Answer: Your salvation is complete the moment you put your faith in Christ. This assumes you have repented and turned to him. If you were baptized after trusting Christ, you do not need to be baptized again. Baptism means immersion in water and it should be done explicitly to proclaim that you have been saved. Baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost is the same as baptism in the name of Jesus. If you have been sprinkled or poured upon, then you have not been baptized and you should be baptized, that is, immersed. It is not a re-baptism. It would be your first real baptism. |
