Bible Question: what does it mean to be a disciple? |
Bible Answer: Disciple comes from the greek word mathetes, which means one who learns. A disciple is one who is an apprentice or student attached to a teacher or movement; one whose allegiance is to the instruction and commitments of that teacher or movement. Most New Testament references to "disciple designate "followers of Jesus". To be a disciple means to be a follower and student of Jesus and His word. |
