Bible Question: READ ACTS 1:6-8 What did the disciples ask Jesus. And how did they betray their ethnocentric focus? |
Bible Answer: EASYBOYJ, Matt 28:19 pretty much tells us what ther focus was to be,and that was to all nations, during Jesus time the jews expected that the messiah would restore the nation (Isreal) they were looking at things from more of political viewpoint rather than a spiritual one. They were looking for one that would drive thier oppressers(the Romans) out and restore them to thier former position. It even took the apostles time to get this on straight as evidenced by the passage of scripture you refer to. In light of Matthew 28:18-20 is there or should there be an ethnocentric focus? In Christ, lionheart |
