Bible Question: In 1 Corithians 14:34, it says, "the women should keep quiet in the meetings. It is a disgraceful thing for a woman to speak in a church meeting." A bible study group I am in is studying this passage, and we are confused! Is there any textual evidence in the Bible or elsewhere to back up the argument that gender roles can change with time? I know plenty of girls who contribute greatly to Bible discussions. Please help me out! |
Bible Answer: Jesus said, if the people did not speak out, even the rocks would ... if God can use a donkey or a rock to praise Him, will He not use a woman, who is of more value than sparrows? |
