AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 27:57 ¶ When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who was also a disciple of Jesus. [Mark 15:42-47; Luke 23:50-56; John 19:38-42] |
Bible Question: How is Joseph, the one who buried Jesus in his grave, related to him? |
Bible Answer: Joseph of Arimathea is only mentioned in connection with the burial. He was a disciple of Jesus according to Matt 27:57. An author wrote a book Joseph of Arimathea by Robert Cruikshank but I can't speak to validity of the book or where he got his information. I haven't read the book but I don't think it suggests that Joseph was a relation of Jesus. |
