Sinners previouisly could not appraoch God in the Holy of holies and the Highh Priest entered only onece a year with great trepedation. See Epehsians 2:18; cf Hebrews 9:8; 10:19-22. It also prefigured the coming destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D. "The time is coming when neither on this mountain, nor in Jersualem will you worship the Father."
