Bible Question: WERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT DEAL WITH THE CHURCH AND THE CHURCHES MONEY OFFERINGS AND HOW THEY ARE TO BE DELT WITH MORE OVER SHOULD A CHURCH PUBLISH A BUDGET AND A STATMENT OF ITS FINANCES TO ITS MEMBERS. |
Bible Answer: philsull:The Bible says to bring our ththes and offerings to be put in the churches storehouse. Today that is the local church, and because nost in the USA use checks or cash, a bank and bank account of some sort must be used. In other countries, like Mexico and Bolivia, the people give a portion of their crop, I have seen ears of dried corn stacked 6 feet hing in the cornor of sever churches at harvest time. However as to churches giving or publishing abudget. Publishing is not required by law. However, any member or any person member or not can ask for a written statement of income and payments, as required by Fedral law, for nonprofit organizations. If you are refused a written statement, a letter on noncompliance would be sent to your state agency that gives nonprofit status to such organizations, and they will give you the information you may want or need. This is not limited to churches. ANY nonprofit tax exempt organization like the Red Cross, or the like is mandated by law to comply with this law. Few are the people and organizations that are well informed of this law. Blessings. justme |
