NASB | Matthew 26:29 "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 26:29 "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom." |
Bible Question: I am trying to understand what Jesus is saying here, but it confuses me. What does He mean when He says He will not drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when He drinks it new with us in His Father's Kinddom? Will we commune in the Kingdom? |
Bible Answer: Of course we will have time of nearness with Him. But is it another literal communion as we know it today? I think not. I think rather that what He was alluding to is that it was another way of saying that because it was His last supper, the next with His disciples would be only in another dimension, that is eternity. |
