Subject: Understanding Judas' betrayal |
Bible Note: Peace be with you, It is important to understand that Jesus was not only speaking of Judas, but of all men. For if men embrace our Lord and then turn from Him without repentence, it is indeed betrayal. He says "It would have been good for that man if he had never been born!" This means that his life was made useless and redundant by his choice, in which by not choosing Jesus,he chose death. For true death is seperation from God, and by making that choice, that man forfeited life. And it is the same with every believer in Christ Jesus, for if they too turn from the Lord and do not repent, they are betraying Jesus and forfeiting life. Understand that God's will for man is salvation, even from that man's creation, not death. God did not create nor predestine Judas to die, but God knows the future and only declared through His prophets Judas' chosen path. He did not choose Judas' path, He only knew it. But Jesus was indeed informing men of the consequential fate of those who Chose the path of betrayal. Therefore, the son of perdition did not recieve salvation because he ignorantly chose his own death. And just as God does every man's , He honoured Judas' choice. Deuteronomy 30:19 The choice is ours. Ezekiel 33:11 God does not want us to choose death. May the Lord bless your understanding through the Holy Spirit |
