Bible Question: Just a quick question, why is the Lords ressurection being celebrated today? Based on this passage in Matthew the above events don't take place for another month, April 24th to be exact. It is written in Lev. 23 4-6 when this appointed time is. How does the Church arrive at today, March 27th. as ressurection day? Please I am very confused, please include the biblical passages in your explination. In His name, Theoran |
Bible Answer: There are no Biblical passages for when we celebrate Easter. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring equinox. (Equinox is defined as "either of the two times each year (as about March 21 and September 23) when the sun crosses the equator and day and night are everywhere of equal length".) |
