Bible Question: How did it prepare Jesus for his burial? |
Bible Answer: Hi Raquel, Welcome to the forum. My NASB Study Bible for this verse has a marginal reference of John 19:38. I see these as good comparison/contrast passages. They speak of making a fragrant body, prepared for burial. They speak of a body that would not always be with them and indeed in the gospel of John it was taken away by Joseph of Arimathea and prepared by Nicodemus and others for burial in spices. But one day we will behold Him in glory. John 17:24, "Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou has given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold (My) glory, which Thou hast given Me;..." I think the woman was giving glory to and showing her love for Jesus. From the heart, Ray |
