AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 25:46 "Then these [unbelieving people] will go away into eternal (unending) punishment, but those who are righteous and in right standing with God [will go, by His remarkable grace] into eternal (unending) life." [Dan 12:2] |
Bible Question: What are your beliefs on Hell? Is the Bible literal on the interpretation or a "parable?" If an image, what about The Lake of Fire as the second death? |
Bible Answer: Luke 16:19 "Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, joyously living in splendor every day. Luke 16:20 "And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores, Luke 16:21 and longing to be fed with the crumbs which were falling from the rich man's table; besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his sores. Luke 16:22 "Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. Luke 16:23 "In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. Luke 16:24 "And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.' Luke 16:25 "But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. Luke 16:26 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.' Luke 16:27 "And he said, 'Then I beg you, father, that you send him to my father's house-- Luke 16:28 for I have five brothers--in order that he may warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.' Luke 16:29 "But Abraham *said, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.' Luke 16:30 "But he said, 'No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!' Luke 16:31 "But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.'" Now based on these scriptures Hell is a place and it is real and it is very hot. The rich ruler literally asked Abraham to dip his finger into water to cool the flame/heat. If I may add to this Satan has never been to Hell and will never go there. The lake of fire is prepared for Satan and his followers. In Stan is speaking to the Lord telling the Lord that he is going to set up his camp in the heavenlies and be like the most high...But God speaks back to him and tells Him what He plans on doing with Him and what our expressions are going to be like we we do see Satan....read along it's very interesting..... Isaiah 14:12 "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! Is 14:13 "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. Is 14:14 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.' Is 14:15 "Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit. Is 14:16 "Those who see you will gaze at you, They will ponder over you, saying, 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms, Is 14:17 Who made the world like a wilderness And overthrew its cities, Who did not allow his prisoners to go home?' |
