Bible Question (short): Jesus views on the wealthy and the poor |
Question (full): His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ (Matthew 25:21 ESV) Based on this talent parable by Jesus, can we say the financially rich people are upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful, while the financially poor people are wicked, lazy, and idle? I know that could be too much generalization because in other places of the Bible the rich are condemned (James 1:10, 11, 2:5, 6, 5:1), but the Jesus parable is totally against our current social and political climate that the rich are considered wicked and lazy while the poor, industrious and honest. |
