Bible Question: Matthew 24:36 when it talks about Christ return it say's no one knows but the father. so Christ doesn't know and why not. |
Bible Answer: Hi, Victor... Welcome to the forum! This is one of the "hard sayings" of the Bible, one of those passages that is difficult to understand. It has been a point of deliberation by kingdom scholars since the gospels were penned. Two explanations have gained predominance in orthodoxy: 1. That Jesus, during His life on earth, was not in possession of that particular piece of information. This idea is predicated on the notion that Christ took on the limited nature of flesh as part of His incarnation. 2. That this information was not a component of what He was to reveal to men during His ministry. The second explanation has the fewest theologically problematic implications.
