Bible Question: Shalom. Our Lord Jesus told us to learn lesson from the fig tree that when we see the sign we know that it is near... I believe sign of fig tree is sign of Israel but can't find the positive Bible text to verify this. Can anyone help? |
Bible Answer: Hi, ezekiel11! The only reference I can remember is in the Old Testament... the fig tree is named as part of a punishment to Israel where they will lack all of the amenities granted to God's people... However, if you are searching for specific Scripture where Israel is seen as a tree, read Romans 11:13-32--it is an olive tree, though. God Bless! Angel |
