Bible Question: Doc, thanks for the reply. I understand completely what you are implying, but isn't quibbling more accurately describing our stating that it is "pretty much destroyed" when He tells us not one stone would be left upon another? I had this question posed to me from a member of a Bible Study group. I could only reply with what I have learned concerning the events in A.D.70. In response, the question volleyed back to me was along the lines of "why am I not taking the Lord at His word?" If in fact the wall was part of the Temple complex then it should be totally destroyed not partially. I was hoping to formulate a reply with more certainty, an incontestable response. If I posed the same question to you, "why am I not taking the Lord at His word?" what kind of response may I expect to get? Again thanks for your time. It is nice to be welcomed to a new place. |
Bible Answer: Hi, Wild Olive! I understand your concern... let me take you to John 4:19-24, while speaking to a Samaritan woman Jesus reveals that same episode to befold Israel... there will be no longer a Temple building to which God's people will gather to worship... further, there will be a different mode of worshipping: Spirit and Truth (Holy Spirit and Jesus)... the era of Israel's continued Temple worshipping is near its end as He will be raised, as Moses raised the serpent in the desert, so that all who look to Him will be saved! In two thousand years the Temple has remained destroyed... Israel has not worshipped in the Temple... there are rumors of some Jewish organization/s planning to build a temple... if these rumors were to materialize, would Yahweh's Glory go back on Himself and frequent a building that He Himself prophecised against? Would the erection of a temple not be akin to the strange fire offered by Aarons sons or the well-intensioned Oza that touched the Ark as he attempted to keep it from falling from the cart? Would Yahweh's Wrath not burn against those who would profane His Word? God Bless! Angel |
