AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 23:37 ¶ "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who murders the prophets and stones [to death] those [messengers] who are sent to her [by God]! Subject: Can Man Reject God or His Truth? |
Bible Note: Hello Tim, In the earlier post to Kalos you wrote: "However, there isn't any verse which says that God makes our choices for us. I believe that God has sovereignly given us the ability to choose - to respond to His grace or to reject His grace. Granted, this is a limited freedom. We cannot change the means of salvation. We cannot prevent His second coming. But, we can accept or reject His grace". Can you explain what attribute causes, persuades, convinces or prompts a natural man to choose to accept grace? Bearing in mind that the Bible says: Cor 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. Rom 8:7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so," Is there some inherent desire perhaps, some spark of decency, or goodness. Some people seem to be better or nicer than others. But then I read: Rom 3:12 ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE." Tell me Tim. What am I missing here. John |
