Bible Question: why do we use the 10 comandments when Jesus gave us a new one.that we should love one another as he love us John 13:34 |
Bible Answer: Mt 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mt 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. Mt 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. When you observe those commandments the 10 commandments is present there. When you love God, it is included in the 10 commandments, the 10 commandments teaches thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal, thou shall not covet thy neighboors wife and so on are included in the commandments that we have to love our nieghboor as we love our selves, We still use the 10 commandsments today with a deep meaning as christ said: Mt 5:17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. He come not to destroy the law but to fulfill, but christ fulfill it with the deep meaning not as the same as moses observed it. God bless, |
