Bible Question: Are you saying then commandments the bible is reffering to is the Ten Commandments? The first 4 teach us to love God and the last 6 teac us to love our neighbor. All the law would hang on these two commandments? Wasn't the Ten Commandments a Covenant? Many covenants from the OT are still in effect, such as the Rainbow. Could this covenant still be in effect? |
Bible Answer: This subject has been discussed before ... Most think the OT Law, inclucding the Ten Commandments is no longer in effect, in particular the fourth. It is a Covenant (Exo 24:7, 34:10, 27, 28; Deu 4:13, 5:2, 9:9-15) Even though ... Exodus 31:16 says "The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a LASTING covenant." (Lev 24:8) and we Gentiles are grafted into Israel (Rom 11:11-24). One day we will learn if it was correct to not keep the Sabbath holy. Searcher |
