Bible Question: How does God allow government officials to be elected? |
Bible Answer: Hello gracias... I think there are at least a couple principles that we're given from scripture: 1.In the Synoptic Gospels, Mark 12:17 says, "And Jesus said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were amazed at Him." 2. Romans 13:1-7 instructs on several specifics regarding authorities and rulers. Note in particular what verse 1 tells us as to who and why: Who- "Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities"; Why- "For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God." God is ultimately sovereign and He orders, commands and ordains these persons and there offices. I hope this helps with an answer. BradK |
