Bible Question: How/what a church (leadership) should approach (or admonish) its members for not paying the government tax? I know some of my church members work for employers who pay cash wages to avoid paying insurance and FICA. What about members who are illegal immigrants? This issue has been bothering me for sometime but I don't know what to do. iktoose |
Bible Answer: They need to get saved! Cheating is cheating! Who are they cheating? The government, which is you and I. For every dollar they cheat is another dollar that has to come from somewhere else. That somewhere else is usually you and I. Scripture says do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Luke 6:31 Would they want cheated? Yet it doesn't bother them to cheat others. Scripture say render unto Ceasars what is Ceasars. Matt 22:17-21 Legally due taxes is Ceasars and they are breaking laws by not paying it. Scripture says to be submission to the government over you. Romans 13:1-7 Titus 3:1 Are they in submission or rebellion? Rebellion because they are stealing from the Government. Scriptures say God will avenge those that cheat. James 5:4 They have held back what was due others they cheated. Scripture says liars will be excluded from Heaven. Rev 21:8 When they sign their income tax statement each year they are attesting to it being true yet they know they cheated and held back money. There is no question they are liars, cheaters, crooks, rebellious, and unloving. They can try to justify their actions many ways but their actions testify against them. Pray for them to get saved!!!!! EdB |
